Shanxi Datong | The Great Wall Museum of Datong

The Great Wall Museum of Datong is located in Li 'erkou Great Wall Scenic Area of Tianzhen County. The museum is an important part of the construction of the Great Wall National Cultural Park, and is also a concrete measure to implement the three major cultural tourism sections of the Great Wall, the Yellow River and Taihang in Shanxi. The exhibition hall is equipped with a cultural relics museum, a Great Wall library, a multi-functional conference room, etc. The indoor exhibition area is 6319 square meters, which can accommodate 2,000 people at the same time.

The museum mainly takes the existing Great Wall in Datong as the theme. Using  multimedia, acousto-optics, interactive and other modern means，it displays the profound Chinese historical heritage and unique charm of the Great Wall in an all-round and multi-element way from the aspects of geographical terrain, historical humanities, military strategy, Great Wall architecture, ethnic blending, commercial exchange, local scenery and the spirit of the Great Wall.
