China Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka: A Lively Practice of Harmony Between Humanity and Nature

2025年大阪世博会于4月13日正式开幕，中国馆作为本届世博会最大的外国自建馆之一，以“共同构建人与自然生命共同体——绿色发展的未来社会”为主题，向世界展示了中国对生态文明的深刻理解与实践。中国馆的设计、标志和吉祥物均体现了中华文化的独特魅力和人与自然和谐共生的理念。

The Expo 2025 Osaka officially opened on April 13, with the China Pavilion standing as one of the largest foreign-built pavilions. Under the theme “Building a Community of Life for Humanity and Nature—A Future Society of Green Development”, it showcases China’s profound understanding and practice of ecological civilization. The pavilion’s design, logo, and mascot all reflect the unique charm of Chinese culture and the philosophy of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.

中国馆：中华书简中的自然之道

China Pavilion: The Way of Nature in Chinese Bamboo Scrolls  

中国馆由中国建筑设计研究院设计，其外观以绵延展开的中华书简为灵感，融合竹子、汉字和书卷三大元素，整体呈现竹黄色，寓意“道法自然、天人合一”的中华传统哲学。建筑外立面上镌刻诗词歌赋，描画山水意境，与馆前的墨池竹影园林景观相得益彰。

Designed by the China Architecture Design & Research Group, the pavilion takes inspiration from the unfurling bamboo scrolls of ancient China, integrating three key elements—bamboo, Chinese characters, and books—into its golden-yellow exterior. This design embodies the traditional Chinese philosophy of “following the laws of nature and achieving unity between heaven and humanity”. The facade is engraved with classical poetry and landscape paintings, blending seamlessly with the ink-pool and bamboo garden in front of the pavilion.  

馆内设有6个现代化展示空间，以书简长卷为主题层层递进，象征文明的演进。封闭的无柱展厅与自然采光巧妙结合，虚实相生，为观众带来独特的沉浸式体验。中国馆通过建筑语言和空间设计，向全球观众传递了中国人质朴而深邃的生态观，展现了绿色发展的未来社会图景。

Inside, six modern exhibition spaces unfold like the progression of a scroll, symbolizing the evolution of civilization. The column-free halls, combined with natural lighting, create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, offering visitors an immersive experience. Through its architectural language and spatial design, the pavilion conveys China’s profound ecological values and envisions a future society committed to green development.

标志：篆书石鼓文中的东方韵味

Logo: The Eastern Aesthetics of Seal Script and Drum Inscriptions  

中国馆的标志以篆书石鼓文字体为基础，结合当代设计语言，呈现印章效果，彰显了对称均衡的东方美学。标志主色为中国红，象征热情、昂扬与喜庆，中央以“中国”二字简洁明了地传递国家身份。这一设计既展现了中华文化的厚重底蕴，又以现代手法向世界传递了中国的开放与自信。

The pavilion’s logo is based on the ancient seal script of stone drum inscriptions, reinterpreted with contemporary design techniques to resemble a traditional Chinese seal. Its symmetrical and balanced form exudes Eastern elegance. The dominant color, “China red”, symbolizes passion, vitality, and celebration, while the characters “中国” (China) at its center clearly communicate national identity. This design not only highlights the depth of Chinese culture but also conveys China’s openness and confidence to the world in a modern way. 

吉祥物：大熊猫“悠悠”的友好使者

Mascot: The Friendly Ambassador, Giant Panda “Youyou”  

中国馆的吉祥物是一只名为“悠悠”的大熊猫，其名字发音简单、朗朗上口。大熊猫作为中国的国宝，以其娇萌可爱、温和敦厚的形象，象征着中国对生物多样性保护的重视。“悠悠”不仅拉近了与全球观众的距离，更传递了中国与各国共同构建人与自然和谐共生地球家园的美好愿景。

The pavilion’s mascot is a giant panda named “Youyou”, a name that is simple, catchy, and easy to pronounce. As a national treasure of China, the panda’s adorable and gentle nature represents the country’s commitment to biodiversity conservation. “Youyou” serves as a bridge between China and global visitors, conveying the vision of building a harmonious home for humanity and nature alongside nations worldwide.
