Shanxi Specialties Entering the Ministry of Foreign Affairs event held in Beijing

Foreign affairs provide a platform to benefit enterprises and the public, thereby representing the charm of Shanxi. On May 31, the "Charming Shanxi·Choosing Shanxi — Shanxi Specialties Entering the Ministry of Foreign Affairs" event was held in Beijing. Shanxi is the first province (region, municipality) to hold a province-wide promotional event at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Zhao Zhiyuan, Member of the CPC Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the event and toured the exhibition.
This event is jointly organized by the Department of Services for Foreign Ministry Home and Overseas Offices and the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Shanxi Province, in order to further practice the concept of foreign affairs serving both enterprises and the public, coordinate Shanxi's foreign affairs resources to serve the overall national diplomacy, and assist enterprises’ going-global strategy through diplomatic channels. This event is hosted by Diplomatic Material Supply Service Centre and Shanxi Foreign Affairs and Official Passport Service Center.
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shanxi specialties were prominently showcased, dazzling everyone with their splendor and gaining widespread popularity. After multiple rounds of selection by Foreign Affairs Offices at the Provincial, City, and County Levels, a total of 68 enterprises with approximately 600 products are selected to participate in this event. These cover many Shanxi's traditional high-quality and famous products, like Fenjiu, Guang Yu Yuan products, mature vinegar, millet, red dates, walnuts, Pingyao beef, Gucheng dairy products, Datong Daylily, and Daizhou Huangjiu, as well as some local specialties such as Chengni inkstone, hand-blown glassware, ceramics, and purple clay teapot. High-quality cultural and creative tourism products of Shanxi and some intangible cultural heritage-inspired cultural and creative products like Zhongyang paper cutting, Jincheng Lu Silk, Jishan county shell inlay also attended this event. In addition, a series of products like Jinbo biomedical collagen and Jiashida window cleaning robots made people look at Shanxi's national-level “little giant” firms with newfound respect.
Amidst the melodious tunes of "The Splendor of Shanxi As Told by the People," the live demonstrations of polished lacquerware techniques and the skill of making knife-cut noodles drew a large crowd of spectators and garnered numerous praises. These agricultural products displayed their unique "specialties" and "superiority," while those time-honored brands were even more exquisite. Many Shanxi specialties sold out early, and the foreign-language versions of Shanxi local promotional brochure and enterprise introductions were also well-received. Shanxi, with its open and hospitable spirit, warmly invites diplomatic staff to visit the province in person and experience the ancient Huaxia civilization and the beautiful scenery of Shanxi.
"Diplomats are envoys connecting China with the rest of the world," said Dong Xiaolin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Shanxi Province and Director General. "We hope to leverage this event as a platform, encouraging more diplomats to delve deeper into Shanxi's illustrious history, vibrant culture, and new achievements in high-quality development and comprehensive transformation. Meanwhile, we aspire to further promote Shanxi's outstanding enterprises and products to gain international recognition and go global through diplomatic channels."
