2024 "Exploring Shanxi, Root Hunting and Ancestor Worship" summer camp for middle school students from Shanxi and Taiwan concluded.
On July 21st, the 7-day 2024 "Exploring Shanxi,Root Hunting and Ancestor Worship" summer camp for middle school students from Shanxi and Taiwan came to a successful conclusion in Taiyuan City, with over 20 middle school students from Taiwan and Shanxi Province participating.
During the summer camp, students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait ascended the Guanque Tower together to recite ancient poems, sang rousing songs by the Yellow River, visited historical sites such as the Shanxi Museum, Jinci Temple, and Yongle Palace, marveled at natural and cultural landscapes like the Hukou Waterfall and Pingyao Ancient City, embraced the cultural essence of Guan Yu's loyalty, sought roots in the Hongtong Dahuaishu Ancestor Memorial Garden, experienced intangible cultural heritage, and explored the evolution of Jin merchants' culture.
Jointly organized by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee and the Shanxi Youth Federation, this summer camp facilitated emotional bonding among young people across the Taiwan Strait, enabled them to appreciate the splendor of traditional Chinese culture, and reinforced their sense of national belonging and honor. The youth vowed to work hand in hand and contribute their youthful strength to the rejuvenation of the nation.
