Winter Wonders in Shanxi: The Ice Flow of the Yellow River

近日随着气温持续下降，黄河壶口瀑布出现今冬首次流凌，散落的流凌顺流而下，宛若一朵朵白色的花瓣落在河面上，与岸边的冰挂美景相映成趣，绝美的景观令人惊叹。

Recently, as the temperature continues to drop, the Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River has witnessed its first ice flow of the winter. Scattered ice flows drift downstream, resembling white petals across the river’s surface. This creates a stunning contrast with the icicles along the banks, forming a breathtaking scene.

其实在山西除了壶口瀑布，还有很多流凌景观。每到冬季，黄河流凌就像奔赴一场冬日的约会，滔滔黄河在千里冰封之前用积蓄多日的巨大力量冲出一幅幅美轮美奂的“凌度”美景。黄河流凌每一段都有自己的奇观。

In addition to the Hukou Waterfall, there are many ice flow landscapes along the Yellow River in Shanxi. Every winter, the ice flow of the Yellow River is like an appointment with winter, as the surging river, before being fully frozen, uses the immense energy it has accumulated over many days to create stunning “ice-scape” scenes. Each stretch of the Yellow River's ice flow has its own unique spectacle.

在忻州河曲段，冰块和河水一起流动，远观如棉絮，近观似莲叶。在老牛湾长城与黄河第一次握手，冰封的河面下暗流涌动，站在河畔闻声观景，堪称一绝。冬日的黄河在夕阳的映射下，河面的流凌仿若“镀”上了一层金色，形成一幅美轮美奂的冬日独特美景。古老的渡口大小不一的流凌相互簇拥着，快速向东流淌，气势磅礴。天寒水凝冰，滔滔黄河寒至始流凌。

In the Xinzhou Hequ sections, ice blocks move with the river, appearing like cotton from a distance and resembling lotus leaves up close. At Laoniuwan (Old Ox Bay), where the Great Wall first meets the Yellow River, the frozen river surface conceals a surging undercurrent. Standing on the riverbank, one can listen to the sounds and take in the view, which is a unique experience. In winter, as the setting sun reflects on the ice flow, it seems to be “coated” with a layer of gold, creating a stunning and exquisite winter landscape. At the ancient ferry, ice flows of various sizes cluster together, quickly flowing eastward with immense force. As the cold sets in and the waters freeze, the mighty Yellow River begins its first ice flow.

如果你已经错过了去年的流凌美景，今年冬天一定要来山西看看黄河流凌。不过流凌虽美，还要注意安全。
