Linfen Museum is located in Linfen, southwest Shanxi Province. Linfen Museum is a comprehensive museum, a national first-class museum. The three floors above the ground of the main building are the exhibition areas, and the one floor below is the storage area, serving as the city's heritage centre. Precious cultural relics that represent Linfen's history and culture are protected, stored and displayed in the museum, especially featuring bronze, ceramics, land-and-water paintings, woodblock new year pictures.

The display is characterized by its historical heritage and thematic culture. It consists of four parts. The first thematic area "Ancient footprints" displays "Dingcun culture" and "Shizitan culture", and continues to Linfen Neolithic culture represented by "Zaoyuan Culture".

The second thematic section called "The earliest China", which shows the earliest Chinese historical facts Pingyang, the capital of Yao, mainly "The ruins of Taosi". It is a display of the essence of the civilization of the Taosi site.

The third is "The Dominance of Jin in the Spring and Autumn Period", which showcases the magnificent cultural landscape of Jin and Sanjin, displaying the significant artifacts representing the culture of the Jin state.

The fourth is "A thousand Year in Pingyang ", which tells the civilization progress from the Qin and Han dynasties to the Qing dynasty. It showcases the origin, development and prosperity of iron smelting in Pingyang and interprets the historical heritage of the hometown of Opera, Pingyang. It also fully demonstrates the inheritance and prosperity of Buddhism in Pingyang.

Hours: 9:00 am -5:00 pm (No entry after 4:00 pm) Closed on Mondays throughout the year except for public holidays.
