Shanxi Jinzhiyuan Mural Arts Museum is located in Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province.with building area of 23,000 square meters, It is the largest non-state-owned museum in Shanxi Province and the only museum in China with the theme of mural art.

Mural art museum has “Four major” functions, dedicated to the promotion and inheritance of mural culture. Besides the function of viewing and displaying, it also has mural theme study tour function, heritage restoration and conservation function and cultural research function of mural painting.

The theme of the mural art museum exhibition is “The painting on the wall: The origin of ancient Chinese murals”, which is based on the extant ancient murals in Shanxi province and divided into seven periods according to the time sequence, it shows the origin and development of ancient Chinese murals in various forms, which is the most comprehensive, systematic and visually stunning murals theme exhibition in China.
