Shua Haier is one of the local operatic genres in Shuozhou, also known as"Haihai opera”,which was estimated to be originated from the Yuan Dynasty. It was developed from the tunes of "Ban She Diao · Shua Haier" ，which was popular during the Jin and Yuan Dynasties under the influence of other opera music and folk songs.

Shua Haier has a long history of more than 600 years, and is regarded as a "living fossil in the history of theatre" by experts.

The older generation often says that Shua Haier has seventy-two tunes, each with its own unique charm. It is precisely this unique charm of Shuahaier that attracts generation after generation to learn and inherit it.
