The Event Themed "Gaoping (China) Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference in Paris" Successfully Held
On November 29, 2024, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, deepen cultural exchanges, and promote global cultural integration and innovation, the Taihu World Cultural Forum collaborated with Gaoping's Lu Silk and Fahua Ceramics—treasures of China's intangible cultural heritage—to host the themed event "Two-way Commitment: Gaoping (China) Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference in Paris." Distinguished guests, including Zheng Chuanxin, Vice Chairman of the Taihu World Cultural Forum, attended and delivered speeches.
The Taihu World Cultural Forum is an important platform for promoting cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries and for people-to-people diplomacy. It has been dedicated to the protection, inheritance, and international exchange and cooperation of cultural heritage. This event is another powerful practice of the Taihu World Cultural Forum in promoting excellent traditional Chinese culture and fostering mutual understanding between the peoples of China and France.
This event brought together the fine examples of intangible cultural heritage from Gaoping, China - Lu Silk and Fahua Ceramics. Their representative inheritors demonstrated the profound heritage and exquisite craftsmanship of China's intangible cultural heritage to the world on site. Lu Silk ranks among the three famous silks of China, carrying the glory of 6,000 years of silk civilization and 600 years as a tribute item. Fahua Ceramics are low-temperature polychrome ceramics based on various glaze colors, and with their unique craftsmanship and exquisite designs, they have become a bright pearl among porcelain wares. Lu Silk and Fahua Ceramics showcase the unique charm of Chinese civilization and construct an important bridge for exchanges between China and France.
In the future, the Taihu World Cultural Forum will pursue greater inclusivity and diversity, further promoting the international dissemination of China's intangible cultural heritage. It aims to facilitate cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between China and other countries, contributing to the development of a community with a shared future for humanity. Additionally, it will deepen international cultural cooperation to foster greater prosperity in world civilizations.
