娘子关历史悠久，境内曾于春秋战国、北齐和明朝三次修筑长城。后因平阳公主曾率军队驻守于此，故被称为“娘子关”。

Niangziguan boasts a long history, with the Great Wall being constructed three times within its borders during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, the Northern Qi Dynasty, and the Ming Dynasty. Later, it was named "Niangziguan" because Princess Pingyang once led her troops to garrison here.

娘子关的水资源尤为丰富，著名的娘子关泉，水质清澈甘冽，四季不涸，不仅是当地居民生活的重要水源，也滋养了这片肥沃的土地，使得农业生产尤为发达，历史上便是晋冀两地重要的粮食产地之一。沿河而建的水磨坊，见证了古代农业文明的智慧与勤劳，至今仍是研究地方民俗文化不可多得的实物资料。

Niangziguan is particularly rich in water resources. The famous Niangziguan Spring, with its clear and sweet water flowing all year round, not only serves as a vital water source for local residents but also nourishes this fertile land, making agricultural production highly developed. Historically, it has been one of the important grain-producing regions in Shanxi and Hebei provinces. The watermills built along the river stand as testament to the wisdom and diligence of ancient agricultural civilization and remain invaluable physical materials for studying local folk culture.

此外，娘子关还是一处文化与艺术交融之地。古时，许多文人墨客途径此地，留下了不朽的诗篇与画作，赞美其山水之美与人文之韵。每逢节庆，当地的民俗活动如舞龙舞狮、戏曲表演等热闹非凡。

In ancient times, many literati passed through here, leaving behind immortal poems and paintings praising the beauty of its landscapes and the charm of its humanities.
