1. Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan High-speed Railway

Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan High-speed Railway was opened in April 2009, marking the first high-speed railway in Shanxi Province. The section from Shijiazhuang to Taiyuan is designed for a speed of 250 km/h, with 139 km of the railway within the territory of Shanxi Province.It passes through Yuxian County, Yangqu County and Taiyuan City from east to west.

2.Datong-Xian High-speed Railway (Taiyuan-Xi'an Section)

Connecting Datong in Shanxi Province and Xi'an in Shaanxi Province ，Datong-Xian High-speed Railway is a part of Beijing-Kunming High-speed Railway. The section from Taiyuan to Xi'an has a designed speed of 250 km/h and began operating in July 2014. This railway ps a distance of 422 km within Shanxi Province, benefiting 15 cities and counties including Taiyuan City, Jinzhong City,Taigu County , Qi County and Pingyao County . It is also the high-speed railway section that serves the most cities within Shanxi Province.

3.Datong-Xian High-speed Railway (Taiyuan-Yuanping Section)

The northern section (Taiyuan-Yuanping Section) of the Datong-Xian High-speed Railway was opened at the end of September 2018, four years later than the southern section.This section ps a total length of 116 km with a designed speed of 250 km/h, passing through the following cities and counties in Shanxi Province from north to south: Yuanping City, Xinzhou City, Yangqu County, and Taiyuan City.

4.Zhangjiakou-Datong High-speed Railway

Like Datong-Xian High-speed Railway, Zhangjiakou-Datong High-speed Railway is also a part of Beijing-Kunming High-speed Railway.Zhangjiakou-Datong High-speed Railway connects Zhangjiakou City in Hebei Province and Datong City in Shanxi Province, with a designed speed of 250 km/h. Within Shanxi Province, it ps a distance of 119 km and commenced operation at the end of December 2019. Cities in Shanxi benefiting from this railway include Tianzhen County, Yanggao County, Datong City and Shuozhou City.

5. Zhengzhou-Taiyuan High-speed Railway（Taiyuan-Jiaozuo Section)

Zhengzhou-Taiyuan High-speed Railway is a passenger dedicated line connecting the provincial capital cities of Zhengzhou in Henan and Taiyuan in Shanxi. The section from Taiyuan to Jiaozuo has a speed of 250 km/h, with 325 km in Shanxi . This line benefits numerous cities and counties in Shanxi, including Taiyuan City, Jinzhong City, Yushe County, Wuxiang County, Xiangyuan County, Changzhi City,Gaoping City, Zezhou County and Jincheng City.
