1.Hukou Waterfall
When the Yellow River reaches Ji County, Linfen City in the southwest of Shanxi province, it suddenly narrows to just over 20 meters, and the waterfall falls as high as more than 30 meters. That's why people think “the Yellow River of the section suddenly narrows as if pouring down from a huge teapot”. Hukou Waterfall is also the largest golden waterfall in the world.
2.Yuncheng Salt Lake
“Salt Lake City” is not only in Utah, USA, Yuncheng, Shanxi is the Chinese version of Salt Lake City. Due to the lake's salt content being close to the “Dead Sea” in the Middle East, people can float in the water without sinking. So it is known as “China's Dead Sea”.
3. Fen River
Fen River, the largest river in Shanxi, is also the second largest tributary of the Yellow River, with a basin area of nearly 40,000 square kilometers. Flowing from north to south, it passes through the cities of Xinzhou, Taiyuan, Lvliang, Jinzhong, Linfen and Yuncheng, nurturing nearly 41% of the population in Shanxi. The Fen River has a significant influence on the history and culture of Shanxi province and is acclaimed as the "Mother River" by Shanxi people.
