Spring Rambles in Shanxi: Changzhi

三月的山西，春意初醒。而在山西的东南一隅，有一座城市正以最温柔的方式，迎接春天的到来——那便是长治。来长治，上春山、看春水、赏春花，在山水之间，邂逅一场最动人的早春诗意。

In March, spring gently awakens in Shanxi. In the southeastern corner of Shanxi, there is a city welcoming the arrival of spring in the gentlest way—that city is Changzhi. Come to Changzhi, ascend the spring mountains, behold the spring waters, admire the spring blossoms, and encounter the most touching early spring poetry amidst the landscapes.

漳泽湖

Zhangze Lake

长治看春水，最不能错过的就是漳泽湖了。由于湖水深度不同，在阳光的照耀下各个湖段水色各异、波光潋滟，充满灵动与变幻。游客或漫步湖边，或拍照留念，享受春日暖阳。这还有数百米长的“樱花长廊”，3月中旬至5月初樱花盛开时如云似雪，公园内步道悠长，亭台精致，各种花卉绽放，生机勃勃。行走其间，花香萦绕，水光潋滟，仿佛步入一幅流动的春日画卷。

The spring waters of Changzhi—the most unmissable sight is Zhangze Lake. Due to the varying depths of the lake, under the sunlight, different sections exhibit distinct water colors, shimmering with rippling waves, full of vitality and transformation. Visitors can stroll along the lakeshore or take photos, basking in the warm spring sun. There is also a several-hundred-meter-long “Cherry Blossom Corridor” here. From mid-March to early May, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, they resemble clouds and snow. Within the park, the pathways are long, the pavilions exquisite, and various flowers are in full blossom, brimming with vitality. Walking through it, surrounded by floral fragrance and shimmering waters, it feels as if stepping into a flowing spring scroll.

黄崖洞

何谓春？繁花，碧水。随着气温转暖，黎城县四方山景区在3月中旬至5月初迎来最佳赏花期，此时的山头被迎春花包裹，宛如“漫山尽带黄金甲”；黄崖洞漫山遍野的连翘花竞相开放，山桃花与赭红色岩壁相映，峡谷的水碧波荡漾，历史与自然交融。行走其间，仿佛能听见历史的回响，也能触摸到春天的脉搏。

What defines spring? Profuse blooms and azure waters. As temperatures warm, the Sifang Mountain Scenic Area in Licheng County ushers in its best flower-viewing period from mid-March to early May. At this time, the hilltops are enveloped by winter jasmine, as if “the mountains are all clad in golden armor”; throughout Huangya Cave, forsythia flowers bloom in fierce competition, mountain peach blossoms complement the ocher-red rock faces, and the canyon waters ripple with clear blue waves—history and nature intertwine here. Walking through it, one seems to hear the echoes of history while also feeling the pulse of spring.
