Celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival in Shanxi

端午将至，仲夏风暖。农历五月初五，是中国四大传统节日之一——端午节。小长假来临之际，山西全省11市官宣百余项端午主题活动，从龙舟竞渡到非遗巡游，从太行峡谷到黄河古镇，三晋大地已备好一场文化与味觉交织的节日盛宴。

As the Dragon Boat Festival approaches and midsummer breezes warm the air, the fifth day of the fifth lunar month marks one of China's four major traditional holidays. With the holiday just around the corner, all 11 cities across Shanxi Province have officially announced over a hundred Dragon Boat Festival-themed events. The land of Shanxi has prepared a festive feast interweaving culture and flavor.

一、百余项活动，玩转山西端午

I. Over a Hundred Events – A Dragon Boat Festival to Celebrate in Shanxi

6月18日至19日，2026年中国龙舟公开赛（山西·太原站）在汾河之上率先擂响战鼓，全国8省24支队伍、464名选手参加100米、200米、500米直道赛及男子2000米追逐赛，赛场配套老字号美食集市与体育品牌展，全程免费观赛。

On June 18–19, the 2026 China Dragon Boat Open (Shanxi · Taiyuan) will kick off with thunderous drumbeats on the Fenhe River. 24 teams from 8 provinces, totaling 464 athletes, will compete in 100m, 200m, and 500m straight races, as well as the men's 2000m chase race. The venue also features a time-honored food market and a sports brand expo – all free to watch.

大同古城6月19日至20日推出端午非遗巡游，汉服巡游、非遗秧歌、舞龙舞狮、手作香囊体验及非遗主题市集覆盖鼓楼至华严寺核心街区。

From June 19 to 20, Datong Ancient City will host a Dragon Boat Festival intangible cultural heritage parade, with Hanfu processions, intangible heritage yangge folk dances, dragon and lion dances, sachet-making workshops, and an intangible heritage-themed market pning the core area from Drum Tower to Huayan Temple.

朔州应县木塔举办端午雅集，包含古建祈福、端午诗会、传统乐器演奏、木塔文创手工体验及非遗小吃市集，马邑博物馆则推出包粽子、五彩绳编织、端午剪纸、手工香包等体验活动。

In Shuozhou, the Yingxian Wooden Tower will hold a Dragon Boat Festival cultural gathering, including ancient-building blessings, a Dragon Boat Festival poetry recital, traditional instrument performances, a Wooden Tower cultural and creative handicraft experience, and an intangible heritage snack market. The Mayi Museum will offer zongzi-making, five-color silk braiding, Dragon Boat Festival paper-cutting, and handmade sachet workshops.

忻州古城小长假期间开展端午奇妙游，沐兰汤、射五毒、包粽DIY、非遗巡游、《遇见秀容》大型光影秀及夜间烟火表演精彩纷呈。
