Shanxi Launches First Trans-Caspian Rail-Water Intermodal China Railway Express

7月9日上午，一列由50节车厢组成，满载1159吨光伏组件的中欧班列从山西中鼎物流园站驶出，开往阿塞拜疆首都巴库。这是山西开出的首趟跨里海的铁水联运中欧班列，内陆省份山西与欧洲及中亚地区的经贸合作往来持续深化。

On the morning of July 9, a China Railway Express freight train, consisting of 50 carriages and loaded with 1,159 tons of photovoltaic modules, departed from Zhongding Logistics Park Station in Shanxi, bound for Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. This marks the first trip of trans-Caspian rail-water intermodal China Railway Express launched by Shanxi, reflecting the deepening economic and trade cooperation between the inland province Shanxi and regions in Europe and Central Asia.

这趟班列采用“铁水联运”模式，将跨越6915公里陆路和水路。列车从山西出发后，经新疆霍尔果斯口岸出境，穿越哈萨克斯坦抵达里海东岸的阿克套港，转乘轮渡横渡里海，在巴库上岸并进行疏散，整体行程大约20天。

The train adopts a Rail-Water Intermodal transport, covering a total distance of 6,915 kilometers by land and water. After departing from Shanxi, the train will exit China via the Khorgos Port in Xinjiang, traverse Kazakhstan, and arrive at the Port of Aktau on the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea. There, the cargo will be transferred to a ferry to cross the Caspian Sea, disembark in Baku, and then be distributed. The entire journey will take approximately 20 days.

据了解，“跨里海”线路是连接中国中西部与高加索、黑海地区及欧洲腹地的物流新通道。山西中欧班列多元通道体系进一步完善。这趟中欧班列的开行不仅为山西光伏企业降本增效，更强化了山西作为内陆开放新高地的枢纽地位。

It is reported that the "trans-Caspian" route serves as a new logistics corridor connecting central and western China with the Caucasus, the Black Sea region, and the hinterland of Europe. The launch of this train further enriches Shanxi's diversified China Railway Express network. Not only does it help reduce costs and improve efficiency for local photovoltaic enterprises, but it also strengthens Shanxi's role as an inland pacesetter for opening up.
