Dachang Ancient Village
Hidden in Liangjiazhai Township, Yuxian County, Shanxi Province, Dachang Village is the oldest existing village in Yuxian County, with a history traceable back to the Northern Wei period. When winter arrives, the ancient dwellings built along the mountain slopes are covered in snow, resembling a castle from a fairy tale. Known as the “Potala Palace in the Deep Mountains,” the village enshrines seven Buddha statues, referred to by the villagers as the “Stone Dragon Mountain Guarding Immortals.” At the village entrance stands a thousand-year-old ancient tree. When the warm winter sun illuminates every corner of the temple, the ancient architecture, together with the surrounding stone houses and pagoda trees, forms a serene and vivid winter snow scene.

Cangshan Temple
Cangshan Temple is located in Cangshan Village, 18 kilometers north of Yuxian County, Yangquan City, Shanxi Province. The exact founding date of the temple is unknown. It was rebuilt in the 12th year of the Dading era of the Jin Dynasty (1172 AD) and underwent repeated repairs during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. The temple faces south and is constructed on three ascending platforms built into the mountain. It preserves historical relics from various dynasties, such as iron bells, stone inscriptions, incense burners, and colored paintings. The ancient architectural complex centers around Wenzi Temple, with pavilions, towers, and auxiliary buildings arranged outside the courtyards, featuring a palatial architectural style.
