Digital Restoration Exhibition of the Tianlongshan Grottoes

Most of the over 500 statues from the Tianlongshan Grottoes were scattered overseas. With the advancement of 3D scanning technology, digital restoration of the Tianlongshan Grottoes has made it possible to digitally reclaim these lost statues after a century. The exhibition extensively uses 3D projections, digital scrolls, high-definition videos, and 3D-printed Buddha statues to create a highly interactive, immersive, and awe-inspiring display. It presents the original appearance of the Tianlongshan Grottoes before their plundering from multiple angles and levels, restoring the magnificent artistry of the grottoes. This is a exemplary successful case of the integrated development of “cultural relics + technology.”

Mulan 3D Hyper-Realistic Digital Human

Datong City, Shanxi Province, jointly with Zhonghua Book Company, recently unveiled the nation’s first 3D hyper-realistic digital human. Based on the classic legendary figure Hua Mulan, the digital avatar stands heroically in front of the Yungang Grottoes, clad in armor and wielding a long sword. Through cutting-edge technology, this project breathes new life into traditional cultural symbolism. A core breakthrough lies in its natural intelligent interaction capability, enabling users to engage in real-time voice conversations with the digital figure, thereby further driving innovation and development in the local cultural and tourism industries.
